About the supervisor:
I am Nadiia Rekhtina, a Gestalt therapist, trainer and supervisor.
I completed the third and fourth levels of training at the Kyiv Institute of Gestalt and Psychodrama, where supervision practice is studied in depth.
I have completed the “Supervision” course at the Norwegian Gestalt Institute and am now an EAGT accredited supervisor.
For more than 6 years I have been supervising training triads and therapists.
In my work I rely on two models of supervision:
- the Los Angeles GATLA model, focused on awareness of the contact process and the quality of the therapist’s presence;
- the Norwegian model, in which the experiential approach is central, along with the possibility of exploring the client–therapist situation not only through analysis but also through lived experience.
I believe that supervision is not just a professional requirement but a space of support in which a therapist can stay in good shape and take care of themselves and of the quality of their work.
In supervision we explore the therapist’s work with the client and talk about specific cases, the dynamics of contact, ethical issues, boundaries, support or the loss of support.
We can turn to bodily sensations, emotions, the process in the field, looking for what exactly is happening between the therapist and the client.
It is a space where you can not only analyze a situation but also see yourself in it and develop a strategy for your next steps in therapy.
It is important to me to create a space where there is room for both depth and lightness.
Here you do not need to be a perfect therapist. Together we look not for “right” answers but for living ones.
Terms of supervision cooperation
Responsibilities of the supervisor
Safety and support: creates a professional, ethical and safe space for learning.
Confidentiality: does not disclose information without the supervisee’s consent.
Competence: works within their own qualification.
Respect and empathy: maintains an atmosphere of trust and understanding.

Responsibilities of the supervisee
Active participation: is engaged in the process, asks questions, accepts feedback.
Reflection: analyzes their own work, actions and reactions.
Purposefulness: defines goals of professional development.
Responsibility: keeps agreements on time, payment and their own growth process.
Supervision can become a place where a therapist restores inspiration, clarity and interest in work, even in moments of fatigue or doubt.
Supervision formats
Case-based supervision (without the client)
You bring a description of your work with a client you are working with and formulate a request: a situation, a difficulty or a topic you want to explore.
During the session we examine this case, looking at the process, emotions, bodily sensations, boundaries and the dynamics in the field.
In the case-based format we can also explore:
- ethical issues;
- theoretical aspects;
- moments where it is important for you to broaden your view or find new support in your work.
Live individual supervision (with the client)
You can come to me together with your client (having first obtained their consent to the supervisor’s presence).
The format of the meeting is as follows:
25 minutes: your work with the client, which I observe;
After it ends, the client receives brief emotional feedback from the supervisor, and we let them go;
Then another 20 minutes of supervision: we discuss the process, the analysis of the work, your observations, feelings, the dynamics of contact, areas of support and the next steps of therapeutic development.
(As a client for live work you can also invite a colleague from your training triad or a second-level student.)
Triad supervision
Each participant of the small group is allotted 55 minutes.
After a short sharing:
Work with the client: 20 minutes;
Then the therapist’s analysis of the work, supervision for the therapist, answers to methodological questions from the observers;
After the second work: a short break;
We finish at the 55-minute mark of the last working hour.
Cost: 45 euros (equivalent) for 55 minutes.
One hour is credited as individual supervision, the other hours as group supervision.
That is, if you have a triad, you need to book 3 hours for everyone.
